TOMPKINS CEMETERY
Located on the west side of Hwy 45 between Jackson and Grovehill, Clarke County, Alabama
Halfway between mile marker 72 and 73

Tompkins, J.J. 
Born:  04-Jan. 1815 
Died:  ? Apr. 1893

J. J. Tompkins was James Jackson Tompkins and an earlier researcher determined that the death date was 17 Apr 1893.
Mary Tompkins
Born:  10 Oct. 1822
Died:  26 Apr. 1905

Mary Tompkins was Mary Elizabeth {Champion} Tompkins, d/o John Champion and Elinor? Moore?, w/o James Jackson Tompkins. Their marriage license in Clarke Co. Court House has that Jackson Tomlinson married Mary Champion. James & Mary had ten children, most are buried either in Grove Hill Cem. or Finley’s Crossing Cem. in northeast Clarke Co.

Born:  09 Oct. 1863
Died: 07 Apr. 1895

? Tompkins was Noah Franklin Tompkins, 9 Oct 1863 - 7 Apr 1895. He was married and had 4 children. The last one born after his death in Nov 1895. He was child # 10 of James & Mary
 
**There could be one other burial there, since we have no death date, only a family story that he died due to a hunting accident. He apparently was single, not married.
    Could have been early and the stone, if there was one has disappeared. This would have been John N. Tompkins, born ca 1849. John was child # 5.
